This should keep social networkers honest.
The Daily Mail is reporting that users of Google + must use their real names for admittance.
The hugely successful startup thinks that their social circles feature will be enough to protect your privacy from unwanted lurking. (Or mom and pop from seeing that keg stand you performed last Saturday.)
I really do agree with the policy as I think it's necessary to hold people accountable for what they post online. Too many people hide behind their computers and say, or type things rather, they normally wouldn't in a face to face type situation.
As well, it is much more difficult now to find someone on Facebook than it was half a year ago - when Facebook implemented the ability to use a nickname as your profile. It has become much more difficult to find long lost friends.
Google + needs those connections to get started and build a healthy user base. The network has stated their intention to make social circles a more real and accessible place for communication.
That starts by being honest with your name...
