Digg unveils new "Newswire" feature.

For those of you who already use Digg - this is a pretty neat way to discover new content online. For those who don't use Digg - I ask if you even own a computer.



At the top of the 24 hours stories list this morning was an interesting new release from Digg. They are reaching out to Beta testers to try "Newswire".

The feature uses realtime stats to get you the top current news at the time and includes much more transparency with user input such as burying. Digg explains it like this:

Newswire offers a real-time look at current news, using multiple signals from around the web -- the Digg count included. Newswire also displays user actions in real-time, with transparency around story reading, digging and burying. More than just a cool way to view the news of the moment, this launch represents the beginning of a transformation for Digg. Over the next few months, you can expect to see aspects of Newswire reflected more broadly across the entire Digg experience.

I personally believe it's a neat idea and one we've seen another tech giant get involved with...Realtime social networking may the future of introducing exciting news faster to you than ever.
