I ran across a very interesting article today outlining the best ways to having your entire movie collection on the go. As we all know, the DVD is dead.
Most of these methods involve some type of external storage unit which is limited in capacity. I have over 2 TB of movies and carrying around an external hard drive is just impractical in my situation.
I have found the best solution to be an app called AirVideo. It takes advantage of the stored content on your home PC hard drive and can stream through wifi or 3G to your mobile or tablet gadget.
The app is extremely easy to use and setup and and you are only limited by the storage on your home hard drive. There is no need to worry about different formats either because the app will convert on the go. I highly recommend it to anyone wishing to have their entire movie collection at any given time through their portable device. Airplay makes the features of this device even more exciting. Imagine watching a movie from your home computer at a friend's on their big screen.
Now - time to upgrade that data plan.
