Windows 8 file management upgrade.

You know when you're transferring that file and Windows always starts by saying "23 hours estimated time" even though it's a single word document...then you realize the time the computer wastes calculating that erroneous value took longer than what the processor would have taken to transfer the file in the first place?

That's about to get a major redesign for Windows 8.

To offer a more user-friendly file management experience in Windows 8, Microsoft came up with three goals: 1) create a single place to manage and monitor all files being copied; 2) remove distractions and give people just the information they need; and 3) put people in more control of their copy operations.

Check out a neat screen capture of what transferring multiple files may look like in the new OS. Note: with updated java plugins to more accurately estimate time.

As well, a new preview file will appear when there is a naming conflict so you can know which file is the one you want to keep. Another capture below:

Some well-needed upgrades. I'm excited to get a better look.
