Sometimes society scares me a little bit. This is one of those times.
This study may just be gross but represents the tip of an iceberg when it comes to phone loyalty. What percentage of people would rather not drive if they couldn't text? I realize that sounds ridiculous but think about how many car crashes are related to texting while driving - all because we had to respond at that exact moment in time. And no, waiting for a red light does not count as waiting.
Have we divulged too much into our cyber lives? Contemplating and delaying real life actions to remain attached to some cyber extension of self? I'm not sure, but I hope people continue to brush their teeth. (You did brush this morning right? Floss? I didn't floss - oh well.)
Check out some other interesting things people would give up for their iPhones!
The study, which was done for no other reason than so blogs could quote it and mention TeleNav's brand, also reveals that among iPhone users, 35% believe the iPhone reflects their sense of style, 45% have never paid more than a buck for an app, 28% would rather go a week without seeing their partner than their iPhone, and 18% would rather lose their wallet and its contents than their iPhone.
P.S. Blakberry, Android, and Windows phone users weren't nearly as...in love with their phone?...or nasty?
