iPhone wireless charging patent filed.

Sure, it would be great to not have to plug in an iPhone when charging. I know of tons of gadgets involving specialized cases with inductive charging pads. But what is this new patent filed by Apple? And will it hurt me?

That cylinder is apparently going to act as a charging tower. Users will be required to wrap headphones around the thing for powering their devices.

Does anyone else see a problem with this? Firstly, it seems like much more work than just plugging in a cord. Secondly, not many iPhone users always keep their headphones plugged in...The metal mesh on the earbuds is required to complete the circuit.

Using an Audio Cable as an Inductive Charging Coil? I would prefer efforts be directed toward quantum entanglement.
