All things D is reporting that Apple has finally announced and invite-only event at the Cupertino HQ titled "Let's talk iPhone".
This comes after days of constant credible rumours surfacing.
I'm personally curious as to whether the new upgraded iPhone 5 will be announced or the price-aggressive, (crappy), version of the iPhone 4 will be the sole basis of discussion.
This will also be an interesting keynote for the new Tim Cook in replace of Steve Jobs.
So mark your calendars - October 4th CONFIRMED.
Question: the "crappy" iPhone 4... what do you think will make this phone less expensive, i mean besides lack of camera and less space, what kind of downgrade will make this phone worth less? It seems to me that most of the value of the iPhone is in the software.

ReplyDeleteInteresting point - and this is why I'm skeptical about this rumour. Apple's rep is everything and the iPhone name is what allows them to charge so much. In terms of actual hardware reductions they could try: no storage (complete cloud service)and no camera like you mentioned. I would assume under powered graphics and processor which really only means you can't play higher end games and does not have much effect really on the use as an actual phone. And perhaps a smaller screen size. Besides these - your guess is as good as mine!
