Why you shouldn't be upset the iPhone 5 was actually the iPhone 4S.

There has been a ton of dissapointment spreading through the blogosphere about Apple's "Let's talk iPhone event" where the iPhone 4S was unveiled.

Here's why you shouldn't be upset.

The iPhone 4 was a monumental success for Apple. Of course they were going to get the most out of this model and make some upgrades and not a brand new design. There is a TON of revenue left to be made for this device and things like altering the screen size would have meant a brand new engineered specified device. Apple didn't do this...because they didn't have to; millions of the fanboys who complained yesterday will be preordering Friday to have the latest and greatest.

I'm sure with the release date for iOS 5 being coupled with the new 4S, Apple was sure they could mask that they really didn't change much at all about the new iPhone. The way they presented the new features made it appear as if the software was associated with the release and it hid the fact that the only new hardware included were a processor and upgraded camera.

Apple has made a good business decision. The slight modification to an already succesful and proven model is a great money grabber.

By the way, the highlight of yesterday for me personally was the nike + integration to the new nano and brand new clock faces. Google "lunatik" or "tiktok" to see some pretty neat nano watches these new features will work well with!
